چکیده

We examine the question of reconstruction of signals from periodic nonuniform samples. This involves discarding samples from a uniformly sampled signal in some periodic fashion. We give a characterization of the signals that can be reconstructed at exactly the minimum rate once a nonuniform sampling pattern has been fixed. We give an implicit characterization of the reconstruction system, and a design method by which the ideal reconstruction filters may be approximated. We demonstrate that for certain spectral supports the minimum rate can be approached or achieved using reconstruction schemes of much lower complexity than those arrived at by using spectral slicing, as in earlier work. Previous work on multiband signals have typically been those for which restrictive assumptions on the sizes and positions of the bands have been made, or where the minimum rate was approached asymptotically. We show that the class of multiband signals which can be reconstructed exactly is shown to be far larger than previously considered. When approaching the minimum rate, this freedom allows us, in certain cases to have a far less complex reconstruction system.

A Time-Domain Method for Shape Reconstruction of a Target with Known Electrical Properties (RESEARCH NOTE)

This paper uses a method for shape reconstruction of a 2-D homogeneous object with arbitrary geometry and known electrical properties. In this method, the object is illuminated by a Gaussian pulse, modulated with sinusoidal carrier plane wave and the time domains’ footprint signal due to object presence is used for the shape reconstruction. A nonlinear feedback loop is used to minimize the diff...

Compressed Sensing, ASBSR-method of image sampling and reconstruction and the problem of digital image acquisition with lowest possible sampling rate

The problem of minimization of the number of measurements needed for digital image acquisition and reconstruction with a given accuracy is addressed. Basics of the sampling theory are outlined to show that the lower bound of signal sampling rate sufficient for signal reconstruction with a given accuracy is equal to the spectrum sparsity of the signal sparse approximation that has this accuracy....

Sub-Nyquist sampling of multiband signals: perfect reconstruction and bounds on aliasing error

We consider the problem of periodic nonuniform sampling of a multiband signal and its reconstruction from the samples. We derive the conditions for exact reconstruction and find an explicit reconstruction formula. Key features of this method are that the sampling rate can be made arbitrarily close to the minimum (Landau) rate and that it can handle classes of multiband signals that are not pack...

On sparse sensing and sparse sampling of coded signals at sub-Landau rates

Advances of information-theoretic understanding of sparse sampling of continuous uncoded signals at sampling rates exceeding the Landau rate were reported in recent works. This work examines sparse sampling of coded signals at sub-Landau sampling rates. It is shown that with coded signals the Landau condition may be relaxed and the sampling rate required for signal reconstruction and for suppor...

Critically sampled wavelet representations for multidimensional signals with arbitrary regions of support

Transform/subband representations form an important element of many signal processing algorithms and applications. Until recently, representations have typically been designed for signals with convenient supports, e.g. 2-D signals with rectangular supports. However, a number of applications require representations for signals with arbitrary (non-rectangular) regions of support. We present a nov...
